Merging over three decades as a front line bi-lingual foreign correspondent with a background in sociology (Doctor of Philosophy, sociology - Sorbonne 1984), and a special interest in cultural identity, Dr Jonathan Bogais offers a considerable experience in the sociology of conflicts and a unique viewpoint on cross-cultural and ethnic relationships and the crisis often attached.

With a focus on the understanding of identities and differences, he advises on strategies and programmes to help identify conflict possibilities and minimise risks, also recommending and implementing resolution methods.

OUTLINE
Chicka (deep thoughts)
..13 November 2009. Charles “Chicka Dixon appoints Dr Jonathan Bogais to write his story exclusively. The two had known each other since the 1990s. After co-signing an agreement Chicka and Jonathan develop a close relationship with daily interviews in which Chicka confides his perspective about the past, the present, and how he sees the future for his people. Those controversial interviews continue over almost four months until only days before Chicka passes away on 20 March 2010. This marks the beginning of an extensive investigation conducted by Jonathan for the making of the story at Chicka’s request.

Chicka didn’t want a biography, he wanted a strong and factual work to continue his journey and expose the truth. A book for a wide audience, but also for reference so that young Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people could learn about this important part of Australian history to understand where they're coming from. He wanted the research for his story to become the basis for further investigations and debates on Aboriginal affairs and cross-cultural relationships to help towards the betterment of his people. The interviews constitute the backbone to the story.

Dr Jonathan Bogais is the only investigator/writer formally appointed by Chicka Dixon to tell the story of his life and what he fought for.
